General Madine

General Madine’s effect may not be resolved during the speed 1 maneuver granted by Engine Techs. General Madine’s effect resolves during a command and Engine Techs effect resolves after the command has ended.

When a ship resolves General Madine’s effect, if a dial was spent to resolve the effect, it is still resolved as a dial even if a dial with a icon was discarded by General Draven (Commander)‘s effect, thus allowing the ship to increase 1 additional yaw value by 1.

When a friendly ship resolves the command and spends a dial, it can use this effect to increase a yaw value by an additional 1.

When a friendly ship equipped with Nav Team resolves the command and spends a token, Nav Team’s effect is not cumulative with General Madine’s effect.

When a friendly ship resolves a navigation command (dial, token, or dial+token) it may gain the following:

If just a dial is resolved, a ship can change its yaw value by 2 and speed by 1.

If just a token is resolved, a ship can change its speed by 1 or its yaw value by 1.

If both a dial and token are resolved, a ship can change its yaw value by either 2 or 3 or its speed by 1 or 2 depending on how the token is spent.

As per the FAQ, “Nav Team’s effect is not cumulative with General Madine’s effect.”

General Madine can be used to add a yaw back to a yaw joint after the damage card Thrust Control Malfunction reduction.

General Madine ability does not affect the maneuver granted by Engine Techs or Quantum Storm. Because General Madine’s ability must be resolved in the initial determine course step maneuver BEFORE the ship executes that maneuver when it must resolve a navigation command in order to trigger Engine Techs or Quantum Storm.

Entrapment Formation! Ability does not resolve a navigation command, and is not able to trigger General Madine’s effect.
