Timing

This Upgrade Card resolves when a ship resolves a squadron command.

Official rulings

When a squadron that is activated by a ship equipped with both Ahsoka Tano (Officer, Republic) and Flight Controllers performs an attack, it increases its anti-squadron armament by 1 blue die, even if performing a snipe attack.

This effect also increases a squadron’s armament while it is attacking with snipe.

If a ship with this card equipped activates Colonel Jendon, and Colonel Jendon uses his ability to cause another friendly squadron to perform an attack, that squadron’s armament is not increased by this card’s effect.

Community rulings

This upgrade card affects any squadron activated by a ships resolved squadron command. It grants a temporary increase of a squadrons anti-squadron armament by 1 blue die until the end of that squadrons activation.

The anti squadron battery armament increase allows a squadron that only attacks with one die to otherwise attack a target that is obstructed since the attack pool now consists of 2 die with this upgrade.

Can Flight Controllers add to a “Counter” attack?

Technically, yes. But only in an incredible set of steps, as Counter takes place outside of a squadrons activation.

The only way currently discovered is as follows.

  1. An Imperial Lambda squadron would need to be activated by a ship equipped with Flight Controllers.
  2. The Lambda would need to move an objective token at distance 1 of an enemy Moralo Eval thus, activating that squadron (as this would interrupt the Lambda squadron activation with this card effect).
  3. The Lambda would need to be at distance 1-2 of friendly Dengar to receive the “Counter” keyword and that the enemy Moralo Eval would have to choose to attack the currently activated Lambda.
  4. The Lambda would then “counter” with 2 blue dice. 1 from Dengar and 1 from the added die given by Flight Controllers.
