Card text

Setup: After placing obstacles, the second player places 3 objective tokens in the setup area beyond distance 4 of both players’ edges. Then the first player may move each objective token to within distance 1-2 of its current position

End of Round: Each player gains 1 victory token for each objective he controls. To determine control of each token, players measure attack range and line of sight from each of their ships’ hull zones as if performing attacks with battery armament targeting that objective token. The player with the highest total number of dice in his combined attack pool controls that token. If a player’s ship or squadron overlaps an objective token, his opponent controls that token; if both players’ ships or squadrons overlap the same token, neither player controls it.

Official rulings

Upgrades that add or remove dice “while attacking” (such as Swivel-Mount Batteries) have no effect when determining control of tokens in Fire Lanes.

When determining control of tokens in Fire Lanes, for each hull zone, measure line of sight from that hull zone to the token and remove a die if line of sight is obstructed by a ship or obstacle.

When determining control of tokens in Fire Lanes, General Romodi would not prevent the removal of a die due to obstruction as this is not an attack against a ship.

If only a portion of a hull zone’s armament is at attack range of an objective token, only that portion is added to the sum.

A hull zone can add only its current battery armament to the sum, including increases and decreases due to cards like “Enhanced Armament.” Do not include dice granted after an attack would be rolled, such as from the Concentrate Fire command or the “Dominator” title.

This objective is not recommended for Task Force play.

Community rulings

The standard obstacles are used during setup, which are 3 asteroid fields, 2 debris fields, and 1 station. After obstacles are placed, the second player places 3 objective tokens in the setup area beyond distance 4 of both players edges. These tokens may be placed stacked on top of each other. Then the first player may move each objective token within distance 1-2 of its current position. This movement would not resolve the card effect of Moralo Eval per RRG
“During setup, no card effects can be resolved except objective card effects.“

End of Round
Each player gains 1 victory token worth 15 points for each objective token they control. To determine who has control of each token, each player measures from a ships hull zone within firing arc of the objective token, checking attack range and line of sight, “AS IF” conducting an attack with that ships battery armament and targeting the objective token. Use only the die in the attack range that the objective token is at. (Only red die if at long range, red/blue at medium, and red/blue/black at close range.) Obstruction still removes a die from the attack pool.
The player with the highest number of die in a combined attack pool from all ships in attack range controls that token. If a player has a ship or squadron overlapping an objective token, then that player’s opponent automatically claims that objective token. If both players are overlapping the same objective token, then no one claims that objective token.

Ships that have chosen to use Ackbars effect can claim Fire Lanes tokens with their front and rear batteries ship batteries. Ackbars ability however, does NOT increase a ships battery armament, and cannot be used to claim fire lane tokens.

The Disposable Capacitors card effect ends when “End of Round” is reached. Meaning any blue dice cannot be used at long range on objective tokens to claim them. Also it can only be used when attacking ships.

The added dice from the following upgrade cards can be used to claim Fire Lanes objective tokens, as they are considered part of the ships battery armament. High-Capacity Ion Turbines, Expanded Launchers, Rapid Reload, Enhanced Armament, Spinal Armament.
Other card effects that add dice in the “Resolve attack effects” step, are not added such as the Concentrate Fire command or “Dominator”

The damage cards Disengaged Fire Control and Damaged Munitions do not affect a ship’s ability in determining control of a Fire Lanes token. While the damage card Depowered Armament does.
