In the Corellian Conflict and Rebellion in the Rim, after Scoring Battles but before the Track Fleet Condition (or Determine Experience) step, replace the Fleet Command upgrade card currently equipped to Chimaera with the Fleet Command upgrade card listed on the player’s fleet roster.

In the Corellian Conflict and Rebellion in the Rim, during a team battle, Chimaera cannot equip a Fleet Command upgrade card with the same unique name as a card equipped to another ship in a friendly fleet in that battle.

During a one-on-one campaign battle, Chimaera can equip a Fleet Command card that is equipped to another friendly fleet. After scoring that battle Chimaera reverts to the Fleet Command card listed on its fleet roster.

If Chimaera’s equipped Fleet Command upgrade card is discarded (to resolve its own effect, for example) it cannot then be discarded to resolve Chimaera’s effect to replace it.

Community rulings

A ship that equips Chimaera gains the ability to equip a Fleet Command upgrade card unless that ship already has a Fleet Command icon in its upgrade bar. At the start of the Command Phase, you may discard that Fleet Command to replace it with another Fleet Command not already in your fleet, regardless of that Fleet Commands point cost.

Per the FAQ:

If the equipped Fleet Command was discarded in a Ship Phase to resolve that cards effect, it cannot be discarded by Chimaera in the next Command Phase and replaced.

When a Fleet Command is discarded by Chimaera during the start of the Command Phase and replaced. It is not discarding that Fleet Command to resolve its effect, rather it is replacing that Fleet Command with another Fleet Command. When this happens, the Fleet Command that was replaced is removed from your fleet and thus, able to be reequipped in another Command Phase.

At the end of the game, when totalling up fleet points, the currently equipped Fleet Command is counted not the Fleet Command that was equipped at the start of the game. Remember in a 400 point tournament setting, that only a max of 400 points is scored for MOV. (Even if the destroyed fleet totaled more than 400 points.)

Only one Fleet Command card of the same type can be in play for that fleet (or allied fleets in team play), if this Fleet Command card is discarded during play, it cannot be equipped by any other ship in that fleet, including Chimaera.

Even if a card such as Darth Vader (Boarding Team) was to discard Chimaera, the current Fleet Command equipped would remain.
