Superior Positions

Question: How does Barriss Offee work with the objective Superior Positions?

Answer: Superior Positions will resolve, and the attacking player will gain a victory token, if the current defending hull zone is the rear hull zone when damage is suffered.

The standard obstacles are used during setup, which are 3 asteroid fields, 2 debris fields, and 1 station.

After obstacles have been placed, the first player must now deploy all non set aside ships and squadrons. Then the second player deploys all non set aside ships and squadrons.
When a ship suffers at least 1 damage, if that damage was suffered due to a targeted attack on its rear hull zone by an enemy ship or squadron, then the attackers owner gains 1 victory token worth 15 points.

Damage done by card effects such as Boba Fett (Slave 1) or Wide-Area Barrage do not fulfill the requirements even if the rear hull zone suffered damage. As this suffered damage was not the result of a direct attack.

In order to gain the victory token. The ship must have suffered damage from an attack. If the attack die are canceled (from either defense tokens or card effects) or rerolled into 0 damage, then no damage is suffered and no victory token is gained or another example being Medical Team, as the damage card is discarded “before” its dealt to the ship.

Even if a ship was to Redirect damage to an adjacent hull zone, the attacker would still gain a victory token.
