This Upgrade Card permanently adds 1 red die to the equipped ships anti ship battery armament for its front and rear hull zones. (Unless it is discarded)

Official rulings

Spinal Armament does not add a red die to salvo attacks. Equipping upgrade cards that increase armament do not increase a ship’s “printed” armaments.

Community rulings

These added dice can be used to claim Fire Lanes objective tokens, as they are considered part of the ships battery armament.

As per RRG: Battery armament is used when attacking a ship, and thus does not increase that ships anti squadron armament.
