If the ship with this upgrade equipped is destroyed after resolving this effect, friendly ships are still affected until the end of the round.

Community rulings
At the start of the Ship Phase, the owner of Shields to Maximum! may discard that card or spend a Repair token to resolve its ability. Each ship that is chosen to be activated, recovers 1 shield in a selected hull zone before that ships command is revealed.
