NK-7 Ion Cannons

During the “Resolve Damage” step, if a Blue critical icon is showing in the attack pool, and before damage is suffered, NK-7 Ion Cannons may be exhausted to resolve its effect. This effect causes the defending ship to choose discard 1 of its defense tokens.

The defender can choose and discard any defense token of their choice including any exhausted defense tokens that were spent in the “Spend Defense Tokens” step.

NK-7 Ion Cannons cannot be exhausted if the ship it is equipped too has the faceup damage card Targeter Disruption.

The faceup damage card Faulty Countermeasures does not prevent a defending ship from discarding an exhausted defense token due to NK-7 Ion Cannons. As the token is “discarded” not spent.

A defending ship that spends a contain defense token and also has Damage Control Officer equipped (and not discarded) will prevent any critical effects from resolving.

A defending ship that has Commander Gherant equipped (and not discarded), the attacker cannot resolve any critical effects.
