Timing
This Upgrade Card may resolve in two parts.
Frist, during the “Spend Defense Tokens” step if an Evade defense token is spent.
Second, when resolving a squadron command, you may choose to discard this card to choose 1 enemy ship at close range to gain 1 raid token.
Official rulings
Iden Versio’s ability provides an alternative way to spend defense tokens at close range or distance 1; an defense token spent in this way does not also produce its normal effect.
