Hardened Bulkheads

This card can only be equipped to large sized ships.

When a ship equipped with Hardened Bulkheads overlaps, or is overlapped by, a ship size class that is smaller (Small or Medium), deal 1 less facedown damage card.

The additional facedown damage card dealt from Structural Damage cannot be discarded by Hardened Bulkheads, as it was not the result of an overlap, but from that cards effect.

In regards to Hardened Bulkheads and Amity:
The Hardened Bulkheads ability does not reduce the number of damage cards dealt from the Amity card effect.

The Hardened Bulkheads ability does not override the card ability of Garel’s Honor as a ship with that title equipped deals 1 faceup damage card when it overlaps a ship. (But not when it is overlapped)

In regards to the timing of Garel’s Honor, Lira Wessex, and Hardened Bulkheads:

The timing does not allow for Lira Wessex to turn a faceup damage card from Garel’s Honor, to a facedown damage card to then not be dealt by Hardened Bulkheads.

This is because Lira Wessex can only resolve her ability “when” a faceup damage card is dealt. A dealt damage card has passed the timing window of Hardened Bulkheads of “deal 1 less”
