Darth Vader (Commander)

While a friendly ship is attacking, during “Resolve Attack Effects”, it can spend a defense token to reroll any die in its attack pool. Even if the attacking ship is at speed 0, as only defending ships are not allowed to spend defense tokens at speed 0.

You cannot use this ability when attacking squadrons or proximity mines.

Intel Officer allows you to target your own defense tokens on the ship it is equipped too. If that defense token is chosen by Darth Vader to be spent for a reroll, that defense token would be discarded. Largely used in conjunction with Devastator in the same attack.

If a ship has the critical card Faulty Countermeasures (“You cannot spend exhausted defense tokens.”) This does prevent Darth Vader from spending an exhausted defense token for his ability.
