If the ship with this upgrade equipped is destroyed after resolving this card’s effect to deploy a ship, the ship that was deployed by this card’s effect still cannot be the first ship to activate that round.

During the Ship Phase of the round in which a ship is deployed by this card’s effect, if all of both players’ ships are prevented from activating by card effects (such as Admiral Raddus or Governor Pryce), a ship deployed by this card’s effect may activate, even if it is the first ship to activate that round.

Community rulings

Before deploying fleets, Admiral Raddus may set aside 1 friendly ship with a Command value of 3 or less. If you do, at the start of any round that ship may be deployed at distance 1-2 of the ship that has Admiral Raddus equipped. When deploying that ship, it cannot overlap squadrons nor be the first ship activated.

Admiral Raddus ships can be deployed overlapping anything except other ships and squadrons. If deployed on an obstacle, that ship does not suffer the effects of the obstacle, as they only trigger when a ship ends its movement on one.

Admiral Raddus must be on a ship in the play area in order to trigger his card ability.

For example, if his ship was set aside by HyperSpace Assault or into Profundity, his ship must be deployed before able to use his ability.

You cannot set aside Raddus’s ship into Profundity, and then set aside Profundity with Raddus. Firstly, because Raddus is no longer in effect by being set aside, and secondly, there would be no way you could ever deploy Profundity if you then also set it aside with Raddus’s ability.

Q: When it is a player’s turn to activate a ship, what happens if all of that player’s unactivated ships are prevented from activating by card effects (such as Admiral Raddus or Governor Pryce)?
A: That player passes their turn to activate.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

When Admiral Raddus deploys a ship, it CANNOT activate first. If it is a large ship equipped with Strategic Adviser, you cannot choose to exhaust Strategic Adviser on the Admiral Raddus dropped ship until another ship has activated this round. This also means if your opponent uses Strategic Adviser, the Admiral Raddus dropped ship still cannot activate and another ship must be chosen to activate in that fleet.

In the case of Governor Pryce, Pryce trumps Admiral Raddus in terms of activation order.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

Any ships set aside by Admiral Raddus before deployment, cannot trigger any upgrade cards effects unless the ship is deployed in the play area. Meaning some upgrade cards may miss their timing window and will not be allowed to utilize that cards ability. For example, Bail Organa, Endeavor, etc.

Q: Can set-aside ships be assigned tokens or chosen as an objective ship by abilities or card effects?
A: No. However, if they are assigned tokens or chosen as an objective ship before being set aside (by Blockade Run or Intel Sweep, for example) those tokens or effects are not removed when the ship is set aside

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

A ship set aside by Admiral Raddus cannot be given an objective token or command token from Most Wanted, Opening Salvo, Advanced Gunnery, Precision Strike,Fleet in Being, Salvage Run as the timing for being given the objective token is “after deploying fleets”.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

A 2nd player Raddus with Blockade Run assigns an Objective Token to the ship that will be set aside.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

A Ship can be chosen to be the objective ship before being set aside in Intel Sweep.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

Deploying the set aside Raddus ship on an obstacle in Dangerous Territory will not trigger the claiming of the objective token from an obstacle. As it is being deployed, not overlapping. The ship must end its movement on that obstacle, and thus overlap it, in order to claim the objective token. Same process for Navigational Hazards, and Infested Fields.

When Aspiration deploys from being set aside by Raddus, it’s card effect triggers, since it is “when you deploy”.

When a ship equipped with Local Fire Control deploys from being set aside by Raddus, it’s card effect triggers, since it is “after you deploy”.

Can a Raddus ship be deployed on or near Proximity mines or mines from Minefield?
Yes, deploying is not a maneuver, It is a deployment or placement. Once the ship conducts a maneuver, if it ends movement near a mine, it will explode.

Jul 9, 2020 | Source: KARM

Proximity Mines and Raddus share the same timing, so Proximity Mines tokens can be placed before choosing a Raddus ship to be put into Hyperspace

Ships that deploy from Admiral Raddus ability can be affected by G7-X Grav Well Projector and Gravity Rift obstacle.
